WellCem AS was founded in 2002. Holder of all rights and patents to ThermaSet^® products.
WellCem AS make procedures for use, and solution for application specific to each and every well. Cooperation with several of the main companies in the industry, where we provide solutions to well integrity problems that previously had no solution.

The Story of ThermaSet®

The use of mineral oil as fuel has been known for quite some time, and at some locations, oil trickled out of the ground by itself. Not enough to supply the rapid growing need, the search was on to come up with the best method, in order to get more oil out of the ground.

There has always been innovators among us. Without them we would not have had the wheel, let alone the airplane...and not much more oil either. The first innovators rammed tree logs into the ground to make a hole, but with the combustion engine came the insatiable demand, and innovative heads were summoned to the task.

The methods became more advanced with the introduction of rotary drilling and steel casing of the well bore. Cement was pumped behind the casing to create a barrier, but cement is limited by poor mechanical properties.

As the drilling techniques evolved, the innovators also understood the need for a material to better seal the zones of the well.

A material with better mechanical properties was needed. A stronger material to endure the harsh down hole conditions, and for that reason, ThermaSet® has been developed.
